Invest in AMD. If phenom 2 lives up to the hype you will be rich. If not oh well.

Buy random stocks. With our current economy, its almost impossible to not make money.

For a 22" screen:

CPU: e8400 or I7 920
RAM: 8GB of DDR2 for the e8400, 6GB of DDR3 for the 920
Mobo: Asus or Gigabyte. X58 for the I7 920 and P45 for the e8400
GPU: 1GB 4870 or the 4870X2 if you want a card that will last a little longer
PSU: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forum [...] p?t=108088 <no lower than Tier 2
HDD: the 640GB WD is the best bang for the buck right now.
Case: Antec 1200 comes to mind
Blu Ray: I don't care enough about Blu Ray to suggest anything.
Sound Card: Personal preference. A lot of the integrated are good enough.
Monitor: Samsung.

This shouldn't run more than $2,000. No point on spending $5,000 for a new system that will be outpaced by a $1,500 system by next year.
