Hey folks!

I have a few questions regarding a monitor and a video card.

First off, I'm looking to build a new gaming PC. I'm 95% I'm going to go with the Sapphire 4870 1GB card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102801

Next, I know I am going to go with a 24" monitor supporting 1920x1200. There is a great deal on Newegg for this monitor here. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824112011. Really where I am confused is the whole HDMI thing.

1) Is it best to use an DVI - HDMI connection from your video card to your monitor? Obviously this monitor doesn't have HDMI but would it be better resolution? Clearer screen? I'm just confused on how that card works with HDMI.

2) I would need an HDMI connection if I ever wanted to hook up a PS3, XBOX 360 to play on a monitor correct?

3) How does this monitor compare to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014173? What makes the price difference? It almost seems like it's too good to be true.

Thanks VERY much!

HDMI and dvi are both digital and neither has an advantage in terms of image quality .
HDMI coupled with some gfx cards [ like the 4870] can also send the sound signal as well . That makes it very easy to use a pc as a gaming console with your tv , or as a multimedia pc .
