HI!!!!
i wana buy a new 22-inch lcd and a ati hd 4850.... so my question will i b able to run my computer with 400w psu?
my current config si...
Proc. - intel E8400
RAM - trancend 2gb 800mhz
Mobo - ASUS p45 kpl-cm
HDD - 500gb seagate sata
monitor - 15 inch old crt(which im going to replace...)
PSU - 400W.
I doubt it, the amperage on the 12v rail will probably be to small to power the graphics card.
I'd upgrade it to a 600w or more PSU. Seasonic, Corsair, Silverstone are all good brands. And make sure there's enough amperage on the 12v rail. It should tell you how much you need on the graphics card box.
I have an Antec ea500D with P35 mobo, a q6600 @ 3 Ghz, 2 sata HDs, 4 usb devices drawing power, plus the ipod charging at need, 4x1 gb DDR2-800, HD4850, and a sata dvd-rw with absolutely no problems.
You could probably take a look at a Corsair 450w if you want, but I would go with 500w or over... it'll be fine. Just make sure you'll have enough power on your 12V rail to power your components. Do not pick up some Rosewill Craptastic 650w PSU.
