I'm a little confused about a couple of things with the P6T MB.
1) Asus website (& others) state about the P6T as, 6 x DIMM, Max. 24 GB, DDR3 2000(O.C.)*/1866(O.C.)*/1800(O.C.)*/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 Memory
http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=179&l3=815&l4=0&model=2731&modelmenu=2
...NewEgg has the P6T
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131359
at "Maximum Memory Supported 12GB,,Memory Standard DDR3 2000(O.C)/1600(O.C)/1333
Also, I've seen others state Max supported memory 2GB per slot
WHO'S TELLING FIBS?

2) I understand that the MB will accept the different speeds of ram, but the 1600 is listed as an over clocked option.
Q) If I install the 1600, will the MB recognize it as 1600 , or will I have to remind it every time the system boots up?

As of now, here's the choices (assuming) 12GB max.
.....$99 8-8-8-024 1.65v OCZ XMP Ready Series 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

or
.....$89 / ($69 after rebate) 9-9-9-24 1.5v CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory

This will be a build for my Brother, who is NOT a Techie, nor a gamer.

All advice will be greatly appreciated
3) Also, any advice for a good performing, inexpensive , PCI-e Vid card.
4) What Asus will accept the 24 GB of memory?

Might help if you reedit the links.
But my best guess is your looking at the first p6t. There is now a reformed version out known as V2.
