recently i set up an i7 system. Im using the x58 asrock supercomputer and the ram i purchased for it was OCZ NVIDIA SLI-Ready Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1800 (PC3 14400). However when in everest its listing my speed as DDR3-1066 (533mhz). The ram is EPP 2.0 ram and so is the motherboard how can i enable the EPP 2.0 i did not see the option available in the bios. i looked in the motherboard manual and in the screenshot of the bios it shows the EPP 2.0 option for ram but when i enter my bios that option is not there. if anyone has any advice or solutions please let me know.

You dont need to enable the EPP you can simply set the speeds, voltage and timings to that of the EPP rating. Your RAM is being displayed at 533 because it is more than likely that that is its JEDEC rating (the true speed of the RAM). The EPP setting is its enhanced performance profile setting (which is often used to advertise the speed of the RAM - very cheeky IMO). All this information is under the SPD tab in CPUz. So change the settings in the BIOS.

Also, you should be running triple channel memory (2x3GB) not dual channel (2x2GB)

You memory voltage is to high. you didn't purchase the X58 cert DDr3 kit. Return that ram and purchase a x58 max 1.65v 3x2gb kit. Your motherboard is freaking out and down clocking the ram to prevent damage to the CPU.

You purchased 1.9V DDR3 and the X58 doesn't support anything past 1.65v.

Don't try to over volt your CPU. You will kill your new i7. Don't believe me? Open your motherboard manual or do a google :D

time to admit you F'ed up and purchased the wrong ram.
