Hello,
I'm planning on purchasing a new graphic card for my desktop, which is the Radeon HD 4850.
I was wondering if my mobo was enough to handle the graphic card.
After all, the card uses PCI-E 2.0 while the mobo only supports PCI-E.
Also, I'm using the Phenom x3 8400, will this be a bottleneck for the graphic card?
If so, any recommendations for a CPU upgrade on the current mobo, or is it better
to swap the mobo for a new one?
Check under "cpu support" for your current board to see what cpus you can upgrade to. Also, consider a new power supply before upgrading the cpu. You'll need about 500 watts for the 4850. Use a name brand ps such as antec, corsair, seasonic, enermax, or pc power and cooling.
I can't find the specs for NARRA3 mobo...
I only see NARRA, and I think those 2 are different.
I think I do not have to worry about the PSU at the moment, it's at 600W and from an acknowledgeable brand (forget the name).
Someone mentioned that it supports CPUs up to athlon 64 x2 5600 / phenom 9600 => at 95W max
