OK - so I lied.

My guess is he was asking about something similar to what ME has whereby you
can run SCANREG and make another backup. Not go through the gyrations
mentioned in your reference.

That way backs it up but there's no way of restoring.

http://home.t-online.de/home/lars.hederer/erunt has a scanreg like utility.
