Hi, I have been useing my computer for two years now, and over the past week any time I try and launch a game within seconds of reaching the menue or starting the game the game starts to artifact and crash and one time it BSOD'd anything 3D pretty much crashes up. Obviously the video card is fowling up, but it still displays the desktop normaly and most applications, so it makes me think of the power supply. If someone with some more experience mind takeing a look at my CPUZ's pics and help me figure this out.
X6800
8800 GTX
3 gigs RAM
680i mobo
water cooling for mobo and processor
750 watt PSU
all stock cloocked
The gtx versions of newer cards tend to run warm. Be sure your case fans are aimed correctly and try to leave some space between cards so air circulates. You can also try the newest device driver on nvidia's website. Be sure to uninstall the old driver before installing the new one. I just installed the latest updates for windows 7 64 bit beta, and now my system runs much smoother. The updates included a flash player for 64 bit, which wasn't available until now. Check for updates on your windows version. As far as the power supply, if you had a serious heat problem, your system would just shut down on it's own. If you have a low end power supply, that could also be your problem. What is the brand and specs for the 12v rail?
