Everything is on my external hard drive but my computer wont show me icons

Hello,
why would my computer recognize my external hard drive, show that it is full, but, when I open the window it's empty. no folders, no files, no nothing what do I do?

Is it a large Seagate, about 2-3 years old?

If so, look for the model number, something like 7200.11, or 7200.12, or 7200.13
