Can anybody help me, I just bought a !tb western digital Hd and my mb wont recognize. After googling it sounds like Ill need to flash my bios, is it possible for me to do this myself. Any chance I can get some guidance? My mb is a Gigabyte - GA-7N400 Pro rev. 2, the giga site seems to have the bios upgrade although Im not sure which one to use, and I also need to do it by cd rather than floppy as I dont have a floppy drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!

Thanks the @bios utility sounds pretty user friendly, I assume I am to dl the @bios download, although I am still at a loss as to how I will save my current bios in case of an accident, does it save to hard drive? If so how would I reinstall my old bios? Thank you so very much for your help and quick response!! Also I have rev2, im sure of it although when I tried to dl it I didnt see where it asks for rev or board type. Thank you!!!

Slow down with the idea of re-flashing your BIOS. If done wrong your motherboard might be useless.

First there doesn't seem to be a Bios update to solve your problem.
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/BIOS_Model.aspx?ProductID=1756

Then you have to find out which Bios update utility the board supports. The manuals on line don't seem to indicate this or seem to be full manuals either.

Do note that for boards that support each kinf of utility the Windows utility is considered the most unreliable and not to be used.

Contact Gigabyte support or http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/
That forum is mostly for Intel products but they may help.

Good Luck
