2009 Mainstream Gamer Adive Needed!

Hi guys! I need advice on where to start in upgrading my system for the upcoming games for 2009-2010.

My current setup:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
Winfast k8m890 AM2 Mobo
Kingston 3GB of DDR2 667 memory
Inno3d 9600GT 512MB OC Edition

I am planning to upgrade my processor to an athlon x2 6000+. Is this a good decision? Cause upgrading to an athlon x2 7750 kuma requires me to buy a new mobo as well.

Note: I am just a mainstream gamer with a 17inch lcd monitor. I can only game at 1280x1024. =)

I really need you advice guys.

Go for a 7750 and new mobo, make sure it's a 780 or 790 chipset though so you can go upto phenom II when ready.

ok thanks for the advice. how about my video card? is the 9600GT still good enough for the games of 2009-2010? Would the 9600GT bottleneck the 7750/ vice versa?
