Helloo I just got new RAM and the timings are defaulted to run at 5-5-5-15... So I was wondering how do I set them to 4-4-4-12 like they are suppose to run at. I read that you are suppose to enter the BIOS and manually do it, but I am not sure exactly how... I'm not sure if my computer allows me to manually change it. I have a a6200n hp pavillion and I read that alot of these brand computers do not allow you to...
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can change the timings? I also read that its best to test your RAM with something called memtest? Any ideas on that would be awsome as well.
Talked to HP support and confirmed that my BIOS only shows my computer information... They said that my computer allows me to manually set my RAM, but they don't have any information to help me figure it out...
You need to stop double posting your topics in the forum. It's very annoying.
You have a HP computer. I think that explains it all. As you know, most OEM companies don't allow you to overclock their computers because then they would have hundred of thousands of calls for technical support on broken hardware due to overclocking. So usually BIOS and motherboard functions will be limited. There is nothing you can do about it. Except, to replace the motherboard or something like that.
Your final choice is to try to use a third-party program called Memset. There is no guarantee that it will work for your computer.

Thanks for the help. I wouldn't even consider it double posting considering my other thread was a different topic, in a different category. Live with it dude. Its not the end of the world.
