Hello to all of you peoples!:)!

I am really in need of upgrading my cpu, hopefully when i get the money.:D
Anyways, i would really like to know, if my motherboard, current ASUS M3N78-VM, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813131318 , Would support the new phenoms, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 819103472.

I just dont have the money to upgrade everything, since my mobo says it supports amd+, and the am3, is also capable with the amd+, and i also have heard people, using this motherboard with the new phenoms. So my biggest question is,. "Would this processor work with my current motherboard"? If i just poped it in, would it run, without any problems? Could you guys please help me out?

And also, do you think its worth getting the new phenom? Or should i just buy the 65nm one? For 30-40$ Cheaper? Give me your opinions if you can! THANKS SOO MUCH :D!

Thanks!'

It should, but you might wanna check ASUS's site to make sure. May need to flash the bios.

and as for Phenom II vs. Phenom, it's Phenom II by a longshot.
45nm>65nm, and the performace in the IIs is really quite a lot better.

Oh okay, thanks, i am thinking of upgrading! Hopefully in a month or two, Till i save some money:D. I have a athlon x2 4800+, at 2.5ghz. I am tired of it, it makes me lag in most games, and o lose fps. Are the phenom II, Same socket ? They use the same socket as the am2, right? I am just wodering? So you think that the phenom II, are a better pick over the 65nm ones? Thanks alot! Time to save another 100-150$!lol!:P! Hopefully it will give some increase in performance, over my 4800+? Think so?

Phenom II wipes the floor with Phenom. I assume you're going to get the X4 920 or 940, for the AM2+ socket. Its $190 for 920 and $230 for 940 BE. Phenom is cheaper, but you will find that II will wipe the floor with it.
