you see,im a new comer. So it will be more hard for to refer and understanding the stickies on this forum, so why dont you give me some help??????please
While the risk is low, its still possible for you to change the wrong setting and fry your machine. Bump the voltage up to far and poof, there goes your new machine. I only help people who know what they are doing. Read some OCing guides and come back. Tell us what you plan to do and I'll tell you if thats a good idea. I don't want to help you kill your stuff. I also don't want to use terms like FSB:RAM or drop the CPU multiplier and have you not understand what I'm talking about. I'm not reinventing the wheel.
im running Asus P5N-D with a Q8400, 4gb ram ddr2 800,graphic card(GTX260 OC).could u teach me how to overclock for better gaming and performance

Next stop should be a guide for your particular motherboard. Google is your friend.
Also look for a generic 680i guide. The 700i's are just 600i's that have been fixed so they can use the 45 nm Yorkfields.
Go through the guides. Then take your core voltage off Auto and set your memory voltage to factory recommended values. Change the memory clock freq to whatever you need to set it to twice the FSB. Then when you increase the FSB, the memory clock will rise in in proportion with it. At an FSB frequency of 333 MHz (1333 MHz FSB clock), your memory clock should be at 667 MHz.
Download CPU-Z to check your FSB:RAM ratio. It should be a 1:1 ratio.
