Hey Immortal25,

I did some research on these 2 cards the xfx GTX 260 is faster, BUT not at all to really spend the extra money on. here is a link with benchmarks againts both cards.

As you can see its not going to be a noticable difference.

Heya, that link only leads to the XFX review... Didn't quite see the Asus card. But good review nonetheless, looks like the black edition card is mighty indeed.

in terms of getting an OC card I would always look at XFX first and compare other cards too it. XFX almost always has HIGHER CLOCK speeds that the rest. So in terms of the ASUS or the XFX I would go XFX

One question though guys, if i decide not to get an OC card and just a regular, which manufacturer do you all recommend? Is the performance difference vs power consumption ratio worth the price of the OC card? Am seriously considering...

Well what you need to do is pull up all the cards you are looking at that are not OC cards and look at the specs, i.e. clock speeds, frequency, ect and find the 1 that has had the best reviews from benchmarks and CONSUMER posts and compare it to a OC card OF THE SAME MFG and calculate power consumption vs. clockspeeds if you decide to go that route.

Hmm...right. Was hoping i can have some personal opinions as sometimes what's on paper isn't necessarily practically right. Thing is, some local shops here refuse to order a specific card and when I ask them what are the various cards that are OC and not, they recommend nonsense. Some do not even know of the 216 and 192 stream processors in the GTX 260.
Crap...
Anyway on topic, both cards seem to have good reviews...I think maybe I'll settle for the cheaper one if price difference is significant.

it depends what edition of OC you get there are low OC MID OC AND HIGH OC

You mean for both cards, there are several classes of OC?? Hmm...

Asus has a 3year warranty and XFX has the "double lifetime" warranty. If you sell the XFX card the 2nd owner could also be covered by the warranty which might help earn a little more next time you're looking to upgrade.
