Hi tomshardware's community, I need some tips for overclocking an i7 920, i had it @ 3.42 Ghz for few months but i decided to go higher .. the thing is that im running it at 3.42 Ghz with 1.13125V and when i overclock to 3.82 Ghz i have to raise it to 1.31250V (Yes i ran prime95 @ 3.42 Ghz and 3.82 Ghz they are stable)
I have my Perfomance enhance in Turbo, it has 3 options Standar, Turbo and Extreme, which one should i use? My CPU is running at 79C @ 3.82 Ghz and 68C @ 3.42 is there any way to lower the temps?

Heres my BIOS settings @ 3.42 Ghz i7 920 D0

Wow. 3.42Ghz @ 1.13V... As for your temps, 79C is fine for Prime 95, although it'd be a lot better at 75C or below. Maybe open up the case during torture testing? Try adding more fans in the case, or use a higher quality thermal paste. Also, I suggest you turn C1E on, which will help with idle temps and idle power usage.
