I've got an older Sony Vaio TR1MP with a problem of very slow performance.
basically, the factory fitted 30gb hitachi compact 1.8" drive is extremely slow.
according to HDtune im getting max read throughput of 3.4MB/s and average of 3.3MB/s, which seems very slow for the rated performance of the drive.
i wondered what other owners get...or if there is a better disk driver to use. as at that level of performance even a compact flash card based mini-ide to CF adapter starts to look faster. or would they be limited by the driver too?
any ideas? or recommendations
