Currently have:

Intel Core2 Duo E8500
ABIT IP35-E
4GB (4x1GB) Crucial Ballistix PC2-5300 (DDR II) 667 MHz
9800 GTX
OCZ SXS 600W

Need a RAM upgrade (looking at blazing fast stuff) and would also need to upgrade the motherboard as it only supports 667/800MHz RAM (see here).

Don't want to spend outrageous amounts but will pay a bit if it's awesome stuff!

I don't need SLI, RAID, etc, just new motherboard and fast RAM (6GB).

This would be a good option.

If you really need a new mb, get the gigabyte ep45-ud3r. With this ram and mb running the e8500 you could oc it to 3.8 easily. What OS are you running?

XP Pro 32-bit at the moment, I dont want to overclock, and was thinking of moving to XP 64-bit or even Vista if I got 4GB+ RAM.

Is G.Skill available in the UK?

I was thinking blazing fast as in the latest DDR3 stuff.

Unless you upgrade to i7 ddr3 is not worth it. Don't get more than 4gb unless your OS is 64bit. Also unless you do a lot of photoshop or similar you will see no speed gain going from 4 to 6gb.

these are good options in the UK.

Then there's no reason to buy a new mobo and faster RAM. It won't make any noticeable difference.

if you're not overclocking, the only thing that will be faster is the rate of money flying out of your account.
