I want to get the GTX 285 video card and was wondering if my Seasonic M12 600 watts is enough for this power hungry video card.

Windows XP, dfi X48, Seagate 320gb HD, E8400 with original fan, two 120mm fans one 80mm and a X1950 Pro. Also a Plextor 716 sa. The one thing I notice is my 12v rails only put out 18amps. Is this a problem ?

About the 12v rails, I'm not good at understanding all this amps and voltages stuff, that's what's in the power supply box. Your numbers ( 50-60A ) seem a little high though.

No it is honestly around 50A. Multiple rail power supplies must give out more amps than single rail power supplies.

You have 4 rails and each gives 18A if you added them then you would get 72A. The real available amperage is around 25-30% less than that.

Edit: It actually tells you on the PSU itself, 48A: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.aspx?CurImage=17-151-030-22.jpg&Image=17-151-030-18.jpg%2c17-151-030-19.jpg%2c17-151-030-20.jpg%2c17-151-030-21.jpg%2c17-151-030-22.jpg%2c17-151-030-23.jpg%2c17-151-030-07.jpg%2c17-151-030-24.jpg%2c17-151-030-25.jpg%2c17-151-030-26.jpg%2c17-151-030-27.jpg&S7ImageFlag=0&WaterMark=1&Item=N82E16817151030&Depa=0&Description=SeaSonic%20M12%20SS-600HM%20600W%20Power%20Supply
