If you have the system32 ntoskrnl error , then you can't even go to safe mode...

You have to use a Win XP cd, go into bios and change order so cd boots first, then restart, press any key ; when it loads press R key to get to recovery console. (that's the cmd)
Press 1 and Enter.
Type your password if you have any, if not just press Enter.

You have to manually backup some files from the C:\Windows\System32\Config folder . And then manually copy files from C:\Windows\Repair to C:\Windows\System32\Config

Like this:

rename c:\windows\system32\config\ system system.old then press enter
rename c:\windows\system32\config\ software software.old then press enter
rename c:\windows\system32\config\ sam sam.old then press enter
rename c:\windows\system32\config\ security security.old then press enter
rename c:\windows\system32\config\ default default.old then press enter.


Now type:
copy c:\windows\repair\system c:\windows\system32\config\system then press enter.
copy c:\windows\repair\software c:\windows\system32\config\software then press enter.
copy c:\windows\repair\sam c:\windows\system32\config\sam then press enter.
copy c:\windows\repair\security c:\windows\system32\config\security then press enter.
copy c:\windows\repair\default c:\windows\system32\config\default then press enter.

Somethimes it's enough just renaming and copying the software and system files...
If you want more info just ask..

If you don't want to do all that stuff then do a repair install with your Win cd...
