Guide to i7 980 Overclocking

Can anyone point me to a set of pretested overclock settings for i7980 using Turbo V (P6TD mobo). I don't want to experiment.

NOPE, I can point you to a lode of OCing guides that will teach you how to do it the right way so you don't cook your $1000 cpu, but prepackaged TurboV settings without knowing the cooling and case and other system specific essentials would be an injustice to you and your system.

This uses the 930 / 960 but it's excellent for all 9xx CPU's.

Unfortunately you will have to experiment as every CPU overclocks a little differently and each MoBo / RAM / CPU combo introduces variables.

Jack is right. Forget the 980, it is just a cadilac CPU. Get a GM CPU from intel like the 930. It about performs as well.

Ugh. You realize that you're suggesting a quad-core, 45nm CPU as an alternative for a hex-core, 32nm CPU, right? I guess maybe that's okay, if you don't appreciate the difference either of those things makes.
