XP reinstall from restore disk

Hello,
Hard drive wiped out, Im trying to install xp from disk provided with pc, says backup and restore disk, only formats drive or looks for a backup file that dont exist, is there any way to reinstall xp with this disk?

It sounds like you do not have a full restore disk. What brand and model computer do you have? There might be a rescue partition that can reinstall Windows.
