Dos disk formater for NTFS

I can get a damaged NFTS partition on my HDD and I am wondering if I can boot with a DOS disk to reformat it or correct it? Usually I can not Boot from the damaged disk under Windows XP(HOME) SP3 so a self Booting Formater is necessary when the damage happens.

No DOS utilities that I am aware, but you can use a bootable CD like SystemRescueCd.

Your original XP installation CD can be used to create / delete / reformat partitions.
