Hello,
Okay, so overclocking via the BIOS and all was going well until I hit the invisible 2.9GHz barricade that I was not aware of. I am running an Athlon II X4 620 (stock 2.6GHz). I currenty have it running at 2.9GHz @ 1.296 vCore.
However, when I bump voltages say to 1.35 or so, and then try to readjust the reference clock to make 3.0Ghz, F10 shuts me down and I have to use the reset button because its stuck at the black screen and wont boot.
So being a novice OCer (today is my first day), what are your suggestions. Is it something to do with my Hyper Transports? North Bridge? Should my volts be higher? I have seen people at 3.2GHz with vCores the same as mine at 2.9GHz (1.296)
So I might sound intelligent here but I have no idea what I am doing.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
