Write protecting usb sticks

Hello,

In our company when I try to write onto a USB stick in WinXP it works fine but I cant write anything in a Linux system even if it say its writable for everyone and I'm trying it as a root.
I tried after formating it (in Windows) as ntfs but without success.

Any hints?

Try formatting it with the FAT file system..
