I want to upgrade mu mobo, but I'm afraise if it will be compatible with my pc HP a6683w.
I found a mobo "XFX MIA78S8209 GeForce 8200 HDMI 1333Mhz FSB AMD Socket AM2+ DDR2 ATX SLI Ready Motherboard"

and

EVGA 113-M2-E113-TR nForce 730a and GeForce 8300 AMD Motherboard

Anybody knows if any of those will fit my pc.

I want to have geforce 9800gtx and 500 watts power supply, is those mobo will be enought???

Thank you for your help

I think you might be confusing the issue regarding your old MOBO. Motherboards do not have a maximum Wattage - you are probably reading the minimum spec PSU that it requires.

Best thing to do is find the manufacturer of the MOOB in your pc - then list your specs here and we can advise you the best way to spend your money

Just to add on my question

My monitor is on, but the buttom is yellow, it should be blue, but when I press the monitor power buttom, says "no signal output" "monitor going to sleep". Very strange! that happens when I install 500W psu! on 250W it works fine

http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=01G-P3-N880-AR&family=GeForce%209%20Series%20Family

I realize that I need better PSU to run my video card, so I bought that one

The PSU needs to be copatible to anything on my pc?? or can I install any psu on my pc??

If this is not compatible, what do I need to change to have my new Video card running???

I cant think of any reason why it is not working unless
1. The brand new PSU is faulty out of the box
2. The BIOS in the mainboard doesnt not support non HP PSU ( which does not really make sense)
3. The ATX power is plugged in wrong on the mainboard

When you have the new PSU in the computer does it boot right into windows (do you hear the windows login sound with speakers on)
During boot do you get any beeps from computer other than 1 short beep.

Basically what exactly happens when you turn the computer on once you have new PSU installed
