I'm hesitating between these 2 laptops:

1/HP DV5-1017nr: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc [...] ct=3763423

2/Dell XPS M1530 (T8100, 4G, 320GB, Geforce 8600M GT)

Im not a gamer, but use multimedia more than average. The price dont make up my concern but what I really want is a good laptop to use for at least 2 years; ince I've been hearing stuffs like Dell has a worse hardware compared to HP.

Could anyone give me an advise, I would really appreciate it. Thanks, guy!

I'd get a laptop that can be expanded to 8GB RAM in the future when 4GB SODIMMs become affordable. I'd also get one with the highest screen resolution possible -- the HP seems weak on this (only 1280 x 800); I don't know what the Dell has. Personally, I'd go for a 17" laptop to get a nice big screen.

To be honest I hate Dell , I own a Dell XPS m1710 and after 3 months the video card died , i sent it in they replaced it and then the "new" video card died once again , and of course my warranty was no good lol.Now i own a HP and it runs like a champ , but like the previous poster said look for a higher res screen , and 17 are nice but drain the battery quick.Maybe check out a Acer laptop.
