Hi, I recently got enough money to finish my purchase for my new build( it's on the truck very slowly making it's way here). I am a little worried about the Mobo having the correct bios ( should I call the manufacturer after I get it to make sure that it has the correct bios(per serial #) before building ?). But anyway if everything goes well and it Posts :p  I would like to OC the CPU and GPU was just wondering if anyone had a similar build and could give me some pointers before I get going. Is this set up going to allow me above 4 on the cpu(stable)?

My build including what I already have:

ASUS M4A79XTD EVO AM3 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz / C3

it mainly depends on the chip some will let you get higher then others. my 940 does not like to go anything over 4.08 due to one of the cores crashing after breaking 4 so if you get lucky you should get 4 with no problem on most decent boards and if your really lucky you might get 4.1 or 4.2 but dont quote me if you cant get there its all on the cpu and board some dont like oc which is sad but it happens

Hey Guys thank you all for the help I got it all together and spent a while tweaking and stressing over overclocking:p  I wanted 4.0 for some reason I had this stamped in my brain. I ended up with a super cool and stable 3.9. I can run it stable at 4.0 but the volts and heat were a little scary it's amazing how just a little jump can require so much. I am very impressed by the 955 it's a beast runs everything I throw at it and more. Once again thank you all for the help this is a great community.
