CPU and Motherboard compatability

Just want to know before I buy if this CPU and motherboard will work together.

Motherboard - JetWay JHA06-GT-LF AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G ATX AMD Motherboard

You'll have to check the MB manufacturer's web site for a "CPU Support List" or similar for that motherboard model.

It should work, the board is advertised on Jetways site as AM3 CPU ready.
Look for the "AM3 Ready" logo on the box, or in the specs.

AM3 cpus will work on AM2+ boards, AM2+ cpu's will not work on AM3 boards because AM3 boards use DDR3.
The Phenom II AM2+ socketed CPUs do not have a DDR3 memory controller built into them.
The AM3 Phenoms will work with DDR2, or DDR3 either one.
