965 over 955 .. Is there any real OC advantage ?

I have had about 100 techs tell me there is no appreciable advantage to getting a 965 over a 955 for max OC potential ...

... I have had 2 techs tell me that a 965 has more and better potential, at acheiving top clocks.

... wassup ?!

965 over 955 .. Is there any real OC advantage ?

Phenom II X4 965 C3 revisions are binned higher than Phenom II X4 955s, thus the 965s should have slightly better overclockability.
  2. People are having more success hitting/breaking the 4ghz barrier with the 965 BE C3 stepping, compared to the 955 BE.

Nope. The C3 revision brought down the TDP to 125w from 140w. Any 965 with 140w tdp is c2.
  5. What about this whole "unlocked multiplier" thing ?

Does both 955 and 965 have ? Whassup with the unlocked multiplier?

  6. The 955 and 965 Black Edition both have unlocked multipliers, which make overclocking a lot easier.
