windows 7 supports 64 bit if there is a supported cpu i wanted to know that is there a benifit of running the system in 64bit.
the benerfit is to be able to use more than 4gb addressable memory
your computer if it has a 32 bit os (x86) it can only alocate 4gb of memory
usually you want to have 4-8gb ram, ram is so cheap now id recomend 8gb any day of the week if your usign a x64 os
ive been running windows 7 professional x64 since christmas 2 years ago and havent really run into problems
x86 is old, there are many limitations in x86 that they expanded on in x64,
its much like the efi and bios debate (i perferd the old bios to efi, look and feel i mean)
efi adds more features and allows partitions of more than 2tb as boot partitions (if i remember right)
