Would I be better going with

Intel DG35EC Motherboard CPU Bundle - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Processor 3.0GHz Retail http://www.tigerdirect.com/applica [...] CatId=1599

XFX nForce 790i Ultra SLI Motherboard - NVIDIA nForce 790i, Socket 775, ATX, Audio, PCI Express 2.0, SLI Ready, Dual Gigabit LAN, S/PDIF http://www.tigerdirect.com/applica [...] CatId=1599

over what I am looking at now...
GIGABYTE GA-EP43-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

Intel Pentium
E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Retail

Just trying to make sure I am getting the best "bang for buck value and quality" I am around $170 for the mobo and cpu. What would be as good or better then the setup I have now, or is the current setup ok. Thx in advance

Well for $170, the best buy is the E5200 with the Gigabyte DS3L. Consider the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3L instead of the P43 chipset DS3L

Why the p45? Also is there another mobo you would recommend slightly better then the p43 or p45? I might be able to come up with a few extra dollars for it. If it warrens the step up in price I might be interested.

Stay away from the basic intel boards, they are very limited when it comes to upgrading and overclocking.

As far as why the P45 over the P43? Well the P45 offers better overclocking options and has dual LAN. Also, the P43 is also out of stock :P
