3870 or 4670 ?

which one is better ? im getting both in same price.

I have E8400, P5Q-E , 4gB RAM and ATI HD 3650 512Mb/128Bit. Only wanted to upgrade my Graphic card


In future I will add another card for crossfire mode.

4670 FTW. Check out some benchmarks. It makes me look foolish for spending $200 on a 4850 when it first came out, but it still holds its value. I would get the 4670 over the 3870 any day.

If you like to use AA then defined the 4670. You should also keep in mind that the 4670 uses significantly less power which may be a concern depending on your Power Supply. Generally the 3870 is faster, but if you're looking at one that's at the same price as the 4670 then it is probably using GDDR3 instead of GDDR4 and may even have a core speed below the reference spec for a 3870. Usually the 3870s with full speed GDDR4 are more expensive.

Instead of spending x amount every year (or less) on mid range cards, why not spend extra and get something more high end (4870 etc) and keep that for longer!
