This is going to be my first computer build ... I have been doing some research and this is what I have come up with,

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200
CPU Cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
Motherboard: Asus P5Q Deluxe
RAM: 4.0 GB PNY XLR8 PC2-6400
Hard Drives: ??? (Cant decide what size or how many... recomendations?)
Power: Antec NeoPower 650W
Optical: LITE-ON 20X DVD±R SATA Model iHAS120-04
Case: Antec Three Hundred

Anything wrong with this set up? What would you do different? I plan on overclocking the E7200 to 4.0 ... will this be a problem? I would like to have dual moniters ... does the set-up I have support this and if not what do I need to add to get dual moniters.

Also does anyone know if this set-up would be linux compatable?

I just built an audio editing machine for a friend. It decks out at:

Intel Q6600 with the Xigmatek cooler
Gigabyte P45 board (don't remember model)
8GB of RAM DDR2 800
320GB SATAII disk (he uses externals to store all his files)
Antec Earthwatts 500w
Cheap rosewill case, cheap DVD burner.
That, and a 3650 driving two 19" monitors.

Are you going to be doing audio recording or audio editing?
If you're doing editing, I recommend windows with a quad core. My friend uses Cakewalk's Sonar 7 for editing.

If you're doing recording, basically all you need is a processor, some ram, and a hard disk - nearly anything made in the last 4 years will work just fine. The interface matters a heck of a lot more (my friend uses a pretty nice Layla-Echo console)

If you are going to go through with your build, consider a smaller PSU. You really only need half that amount of power.
