So I put together a list of parts I'm going to buy for a new build and just needed some suggestions/confirmation on the build since this is my first build in a long time.

I already have a monitor (Dell 24" ultrasharp) and keyboard/mouse.

Basic components:

So anything above that jumps out as bad or something that would be significantly better?

Now as for the case, cooler, and power supply. I'm not trying for an ultra-silent or anything, but I definitely would like a quiet computer.

I was looking at this power supply, got good reviews and seemed like it would be good. Any thoughts? As a sidenote, how powerful of a power supply do I need for a rig like this? I didn't really know so I chose this one, there was also a 680w version of this power supply

HIPER Type M HPU-4M880 880W Continuous @ 40°C (Maximum Continuous Peak: 1040W) ATX12V V2.2 & EPS12V V2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Retail

As for cases. I just want something simple, sleek, quiet, and cool :)  not too much to ask right :p

I was looking at the following 2:

Antec P182 Gun Metal Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
I like the nice clean, simple look of this one

COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Cheaper and has good reviews

As for coolers, I don't know enough about that stuff to even make an educated guess, what type of cooler would be good but still quiet?

Arguably better PSU for less...

Case is a personal thing... I own the P180 myself and yeh it was nice... but lian li blew me out of the water.

Yeh its more expensive, yeh its bigger... but its more elegant, its lighter, has better air flow, removable motherboard tray

I'd stick with the DDR3 1600 RAM if you think you'll overclock. The last couple i7 builds I've seen got to 4GHz which runs the RAM right at 1600.
