What budget are you looking at?
Do you already have the CPU? if not i7 might work out better.
look at P45 and X48 boards. Probably X48 for the QX though. check CPU compatibility lists.

hi,

thanks for the reply, i work at intel were they loaned out these chips to employee's so have one at home. Cause the chip was free i would have a decent budget for the board.

You're in the same boat as I am. I just ordered one also on the Intel internal loaner program after the fact realizing the QX9750 was never released to general public. So there arent any guarantees that mobo's qualified for QX9xxx will work with these. I guess we'll have to wait till they ship to most of us who just ordered and post up some test results. I'd imagine most newer boards "should" work. Right now I'm eyeing X48 chipsets that do take advantage of full FSB 1600 either from ASUS or just Intel direct (i.e. DX48BT2) (you'd figure someone, anyone from our great company could at least create a bios to support if its not there already since they are making them available on loaner program). The P45 is general mainstream board so you wont be able to take full advantage of FSB 1600. I probably wont overclock, more concerned with stability since I'm mostly concerned with HD video editing. Good luck. If you happen to get yours first, share yor results.
