Hi, i've recently decided to upgrade my old pc. Trying to stick with a $500 budget i've thought it would be best to reuse my case, power supply and Hard drives for awhile along with a copy of window xp home. My current goal is to be able to play WoW on high settings with high FPS and hopefully be able to record gameplay.

My case I can't find online anymore and is about 2 years old. Your standard Mid tower case with 2 rear, 1 side and 2 front 120x fans. I also have 2 IDE hard drives.

The power supply is a big question on if it would work alright.

Total price for upgrades came to $489.96

I've chosen the 8400 over the Q6600 after doing some reading on other forums. Basically what it came down to is that the 8400 will allow me to put my "Distance View" up in WoW more because it is based more on CPU then GPU. There is also no way that I would attempt OC'ing until I got the rest of the parts upgraded on this PC.

Lastly if any suggestions can be made to stick to around a $500-550 budget if there are any "must have" parts that I will need to upgrade. Such as maybe I should get a lesser video card or Processor and get a better Hard drive or PS

If your PSU is running reasonably cool now it will likely work fine. I just swapped out my old X-finity 600W (another Ultra product even older than yours) and to be honest it's still a fine PSU... for a modest system.
Not every product Ultra has is stellar... But, like Antec, it's unlikely to blow up or harm your system. They seem to maintain some standards.

You really have a great build, but let me make one recommendation:

Upgrade to the UD3P. It's a great board and will leave you the option of crossfire. That way next year when you start to think you would like more GPU power, it will be simple.

I will go with that upgraded MoBo, I feel bad enough about not wanting to go for the Q6600 in hopes of OC'ing later. I guess crossfire possibilities leave about the same number of doors open.

Any thoughts on if I should switch out one of the IDE Hard drives early?

Yea, I know. I missed out on a lot of Black Friday deals too. But I just got the extra money I was waiting on tonight. Trying to get things settled so I can order asap. If anyone knows of any other deals going on or coming up I would be appreciative.

I'm really wanting to order this in the next day or two. So i'm needing some final calls. I was thinking of just selling my old pc and adding another $150-200 to the total to be able to pick up a PSU, Case and Hard Drive. I will wipe my Hard drives before I sell it so I can at least keep my copy of Xp Home.

So I need some suggestions on what you think I should get for replacements. I would go look around and post what I thought you could contrast your suggestions with but I will end up spending another six hours reading, reviewing and comparing what should be considered basic knowledge products for anyone that is up to date.

So that leaves my final budget at $700 for a new PC basically. So is there anything else that I am missing that I should pick up when I order to be ready to go? The only thing I can think of is Case fans or maybe some cooling?
