I am looking for a way to go into the system and change some settings to improve the performance of my laptop. Here are the specs.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 2.2 Ghz
4 GB RAM
320 GB 5400 RPM hard drive
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD

I know that the integrated video card provided is crap, but there should be a way to improve system performance. Please provide any steps to go deeper inside the system and change the settings. Thanks.

There really is no practical way to overclock your system. You can consider disabling non-essential services (etc) and removing unwanted/unneeded applications, but your options are very limited. Is this what you had in mind?
