This is for a LAN not a wireless router.
  4. You may need to reset your router to defaults, then you can reset it however you like. If it is not your router, ask the owner for the security key.

  7. does it matter if this is a wireless router?
  8. go into your web browser and go to routerlogin.net usually user name will be admin and password will be password you can check your wl pass or create a new one also it has to be hardwire so run an ehternet cable the go to website after words then remove ethernet

  9. Find or Change Your Internet Security Passphrase

1)Open the web browser that you use: Firefox,Google Chrome,IE,or Opera and type in the IP address for your router, and press the Enter key.
http://www.routeripaddress.com/ < Router ip addresses can be found here

2)A window will open and then type in your routers default username and password, and press the Enter key again

http://www.routerpasswords.com/ < Router usernames and passwords found here

3)Navigate to the Wireless Security\Network Security Settings Tab and open it to locate or change your WEP or WPA Security Passphrase.
Use WPA because it provides better security.

4)Write this Security Passphrase down and put it in a safe place to access when needed.

5)Save settings and close your browser.
