E5200 assistance

hi I am interested in overclocking my cpu. I have a P5N EMHDMI BOARD ,E5200 CPU AND RUNNING 4GIG OF RAM ON A WINDOWS 7 O/S.I would like to bump it up to 3..0 or a little more.I would appreciate any help. thanks :hello:

    Make sure you have a good CPU Cooler.

    The Nvidia boards are not the best for overclocking but you should be able to get 3.0ghz.
  2. Make sure that your FSB:RAM ratio is at 1:1 before you start. Otherwise you will be overclocking your RAM and that will limit your CPU overclock.

    The nVidia motherboards generally are not good overclockers, but the E5200 is a special case. It has a relatively low FSB freq (200 MHz) which will let you push it a lot before your motherboard gives up. And the high internal multiplier (12.5) will get you a big increase in core speed for a relatively small increase in FSB.

    They all require a somewhat different approach to applying thermal compound.

    And they are pretty large, so they might not fit inside your case.
