When I plug this laptop in - no lights come on. When I press the power button - the laptop comes on for about 2 seconds and then shuts off. I have checked the adapter - and it works. Nothing has time to come up on the monitor. It does the exact same thing when you try and power it up from just the battery

I have the same issue with my inspiron 6000. I've even gutted it out but can't seem to figure out the cause. Any help appreciated
