Crossfire on EP45-UD3p

I planning to run a 4890 crossfire on my ud3p board but i'm not sure if i will be ok with the x8 slots and with a 750w power supply.

CrossFire will work with the 8x, the major difference between 8x and 16x is bandwidth. Because the "host" board will automatically be assigned to the 16x slot you will not lose bandwidth, the "crossfiring" is within the CrossFire cable.

Regarding your PSU see Radeon HD 4890 System Requirements, second point. You'll be fine.

Why are you going with 4890 crossfire v 4890x2.... ?

Is 4890 x2 out yet? My rig is hanging right now coz I got no video card. I just prolly go to 4870 x2 if I find a better deal.

Well there is no 4890X2 till date but possibly in the future...

Adn the 4890 crossfire would be better than the 4870X2 unless like you said if you get a very good deal on the X2...

AMD says your fastest link linlk slows down to match your least capable link, - and stcks there whatever the config...
