Monitor Won't Sleep :(

Hello,

I just swapped out a CRT monitor for a sony lcd on a pc running xp sp3. I leave this pc on almost all the time (except during thunder storms ) before (with CRT), after an hour of screen saver the monitor would go off and enter sleep mode.

now, with lcd (both using VGA) instead of sleep mode my monitor will say cable disconnected. I'm afraid of getting a "burn in" effect on the lcd with this stupid display message. (no need to go into the whole lcd's don't get a burn in discussion - i've read them)

I've looked through the setting and even installed the monitor specific driver - no luck.

anyone know of a way around this?

Oh yeah, neither PC or Monitor have DVI (and no lgo on upgrading both)

I'd just turn off the monitor when you leave the room.
