I've been doing some research into getting a Q6600 and I prefer to buy from Newegg because I've had good experiences with them in the past; However, I've heard that they will NOT confirm the B3 v G0 stepping on the Q6600 where as Amazon will, but at a small price and I've never bought a component from Amazon (only complete products)... any opinions, is it worth the risk (obviously I'm looking to OC)... hit me back quick thanks
Yeah the Q6600 is kind of out of date. The Q8300 will perform and overclock the same, but will run much cheaper and cost less money. The Phenom II 920 will also overclock slightly better and perform slightly better than the Q6600 for the same amount of money. Also B3 stepping CPUs have not been made for over a year now, I would astonished if you got one.
I asked a similar question in the OC forums and I was told that the 8000s had moderate success and I should stick with the Q6600 could you give me a little more information.
*I would like to stick with Intel (for whatever reason I still don't know, inexperience)*
