I tried to update bios via asus update utility.
I started update, computer was suddenly becoming slow, and when update reached 50% computer shuts down.
I turn on computer, computer working for 3 sec and turns off.
Tried removing battery, and setting clrtc jumper to 2-3, but noting.
Don’t have speaker on motherboard so don’t ask me for sound.
Don’t have floppy drive.
I can confirm that leds on keyboard light at start (num, caps, scroll) and cooler on cpu is working.
thank you GhislainG for fast replay.
it is asus update from windows.
i have not tried cd recovery. what cd do i need, motherboard?
yes i have it, but i thing i dont have time to open and insert cd to drive. i shall try.
i found some amibios recovery gooogling it, something to put AMIBOOT.ROM file to floppy.
but as i said i don't have floppy.
You probably know by now why we don't recommend using a Windows application to flash the BIOS.
Follow the instructions for your Asus motherboard. Burn the BIOS file on a CD, then insert the CD into the drive, reboot the PC and check if there's activity on the CD or DVD reader. You need to find out what the name the file should be (it might be AMIBOOT.ROM, but it could be something else). Your manual should include detailed instructions. If not, visit the Asus support site.
