Crossfire with P45 and x48

would it be worth while to get the x48 and 2x HD4870 (x16/x16 crossfire) OR just get the GA-EP45-UD3P and get a HD4870x2 and a single HD4870 (x8/x8 crossfire)?????

There was an article done around December that showed little to no difference between the two, now that drivers are mature.

Originally the P45 was about 5-10 FPS slower (with crossfire) on a 1900X1200 display, and as I recall that was narrowed down to about 2-3 FPS once drivers matured.

Given the superior ability of the P45 chipset to overclock and the small difference in crossfire performance, along with the lower price, pretty much everyone in the know just gets P45 or X58 now.
