Hi. Today I tried to split the audio out of my PC. I used a 3.5mm audio splitter and connected both my PC speakers and my home cinema system.

Then the sound just disappeared. So I tried unplugging everything and connected only my pc speakers.
I only got sound from my left speaker. I also tried using the 5.1 system and still only sound from the left speaker.

So it has to be a pc issue.

I tried restarting and I tried reinstalling the drivers. What's wrong?

Is a Windows reinstall the only solution? I'm using Win 7 Beta 1 btw...

This was not a smart thing to do, you may have blown the outputs on the sound card, or damaged the speakers.

Check to make sure the settings did not get messed somehow(the main balance in windows). make sure if your apps have a balance that it is centered.

Yeah I guess you must have used a cheap splitter from Radio shack or something to break that output. That or you just play put it in wrong and broke it, which is hard to imagine but it does happen.
