I am upgrading from an old Compaq Presario with a Celeron D that cant even run CS:S, Integrated Radeon Xpress 200, its a mess.
I am planning on building a new computer that will run games for years to come, including Crysis, COD5, all the new games.

Im pretty set on Intel and Nvidia, but you guys can problably make me get amd or ati with a few reasons.
So far i got
Q6700
9800 GTX+
2-4gb DDR2or3 RAM
500gb SATA
Dual Boot Xp Pro and Vista (Vista for Vista only games.)
and the rest, unsure
I am also trying to keep this under $500, $600 max.

I am planning to overclock the gpu and cpu.

I'd definitely go with an AMD/ATI video card, since the mobo to go with that CPU may support Crossfire, but definitely won't support SLI. And anyway, the ATI cards at that level are better anyway. Go with an HD 4850.

I'm not sure you can even get the Q6700 anymore. Probably go with the Q6600 or step up to a Q8xxx or Q9xxx.

Well guaranteed you're not going to be able to play games for "years to come"...if you want to be able to, go i7...

Id agree with Slomo in the build, maybe just that id replace the 9800gt with a HD4830 like this one> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814102803 or even stretch my budget for a HD4850 like this one > http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814102770
