Microphone input not responding

Hello,
I have headset with mic. audio settings all done. no sound coming from mic at all. sound coming from headphones and speaker only.
is it the engine or something else?
help appreciated much

Make sure you plugged microphone into the microphone port on the sound card.
Double click your Volume control in tray and make sure microphone is Not on mute and volume is up. Then click Options, Properties, Recording, make sure Microphone IS selected. Startup "what you hear" and it should work.

thanks for that Cyberat_88. i went to properties and and my mic wasnt selected. i thought it was automatic like plugging in headphones thanks again, cheers tom
