Cd writer problems only dvds are read but not cds
Last response: in Windows XP
my cd writers can read only dvds but not the cds i dont know what to do..can you plz give any suggestion

Go to Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, look at IDE/ATA/ATAPI controlers, Properties, Advanced Settings, make sure they are set to Auto and DMA if available. Otherwise if SATA controller make sure not clashing with any other drives on the system. CD Writers usually don't read DVDs though, should be good on CDs.
If everything in setup and installation is good, you will have to RMA those DVD/CDRW drives.
